Anna Sandland Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved spouse, mother, and grandmother, Anna Marie (Connor) Sandland, 57, of Plainville, MA, who passed away the evening of September 24, 2023, surrounded by family, after a long, fearless, and resilient battle with cancer.

Devoted wife of Mark, the couple would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary on October 2. Anna and Mark created a beautiful life filled with endless laughs, memories, and, most importantly, family.

Anna was a talented mechanic and handywoman who could fix and build almost anything. Anna passed her appreciation of her "fix-it-yourself" attitude to her children. She loved riding her dirt bikes, tinkering in her garage, fishing, and cruising for hours in her slingshot roadster, rain or shine. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Anna loved and cherished her outspoken nature and wild sense of humor.

Anna was immensely proud of her family; she left them with beautiful memories that, in time, will make them laugh and smile when they reminisce. As her health declined, she never complained, and she woke up each morning with unwavering strength to keep going and make the most of the day she was given. Anna proved time and time again that she had her own way of doing things. Her family will continue to honor her memory with the same love and joy she gave them.

Survived by her husband, Mark Sandland; her three daughters, Arianna Sandland of Plainville, Norah Sandland (Peter Corbett) of Chestnut Hill, April Baronas (Zack) of South Attleboro; her grandson, Nicholas Baronas; her mother, Ann Dumaine; her three siblings Michael Connor (Michelle), her sister Debroah Connor and brother William Dumaine. Many loving nieces, nephews, and in-laws also survive Anna.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 28, from 4–7 p.m. in the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Wrentham. Anna's funeral will occur on Friday, September 29, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 130 South St, Wrentham. Burial will follow in Wrentham Center Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Cancer Society in Anna's name at donate.cancer.org
