Daniel Tower Jr. Obituary

Daniel G. Tower Jr., 92, passed peacefully with his family by his side, February 6, 2019 at Atria in Franklin, MA. He was the beloved husband of Margaret E. "Peggy" (Spillane) Tower.
Born in Salem, MA on May 14, 1926, he was the son of the late Daniel G. Tower Sr. and Eleanor (Phippen) Tower. Daniel was a graduate of Beverly High School. He served his country proudly as a member of the US Navy during WWII where he served as an electrician on Naval vessels. Daniel worked as a quality control manager at the Foxboro Company for 35 years prior to retirement. Among his many hobbies were fishing, hunting, and oil painting. He was a hands on person building his first home in Wrentham and then beach buggies for camping and fishing on the outer Cape. He loved attending his sons sporting events at the high school and college levels. Daniel was an avid reader. He especially liked reading National Geographic for which he followed for tens of years. Playing poker daily with his friends in assisted living, and spending time with his great grandchildren were a couple of his most recent passions.
He leaves behind a legacy of pride in family.
Daniel is survived by his children; Diana G. (Tower) Thomas of Boston, Daniel G. Tower III of Wrentham, Ronald S. Tower and his wife Janis of Fairfax, Iowa, and Philip G. Tower and his wife Diane of North Attleboro, seven grandchildren and their families; Victoria (Tower) and her husband Tom Vigorito of North Attleboro, Rebecca (Rocha Tower) and her wife Deanna of California, Lindsay (Tower) and her husband Mark McDermott of Iowa, Bradley Tower and his wife Cara of Iowa, Andrew Tower and his wife Megan of Iowa, Christopher Tower and his wife Morgan of Texas, Michael Tower and his husband Hai of Vietnam, and his great grandchildren; Danni, Boston, McKenna, Molly, Mallory, Jace, Luke, Elizabeth, Brady, Harrison, Charlotte, Paisley, Remington, Andy, and Ethan.
Daniel is also survived by a step son; Robert Cardin and his wife Renae of Shrewsbury, and their children; Tara, Robert, and Ashley. He was the brother of the late Margaret Hilliard and the late Anne McIntyre. Daniel was predeceased by his first wife; Marion A. (Olson) Tower of Wrentham.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, February 15th from 4-7 PM in the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Wrentham. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in his memory to the local veterans charity of your choice.
