Donna Lee Crichton

Donna Lee (Piette) Crichton passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, after a brief and courageous battle with glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer. She had just turned 71.

Born on July 18, 1954, in Attleboro, Massachusetts, Donna was the eldest daughter of Leo and Leonette (Michel) Piette. She graduated from Bishop Feehan High School and went on to earn her Special Education degree magna cum laude from Rhode Island College, later completing her master's. Donna dedicated her career to supporting children with special needs, eventually joining the Early Intervention team at The Meeting Street School, where she worked closely with families to help their children thrive.

She was the devoted wife of Ethan Crichton, the loving mother of Sarah Kristine Crichton and Jesse D. Crichton, and mother-in-law to Caitlin Howle. She was Éme to her cherished granddaughter, Elanor. Donna was also the beloved sister of Joyce Bonner and Gary Piette of Attleboro, and aunt to Danny McKenna, his wife Rachel, and their daughter Chloe.

Donna loved to read, travel, and spend time with her family. She had recently visited Ireland, the United Kingdom, Hawaii, and her favorite destination, Bermuda. She shared a deep bond with her daughter Sarah, especially through their love of 1960s music. Together they attended Hair on Broadway, visited the Woodstock museum, and saw Crosby, Stills & Nash in concert. Just weeks before Donna's diagnosis, they had made plans for more adventures.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sarah Kristine Crichton, on June 30, 2025, and her brother-in-law, Mike Crichton, on March 11, 2025. June 4, 2026, would have marked her 50th wedding anniversary with Ethan.

Donna's love, strength, and devotion will be deeply missed.

Final arrangements have been made with the Perry-McStay Funeral Home at 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, Rhode Island. Calling hours are on Sunday, September 7 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and Funeral Services are being held on September 8 at 11:00 AM.
