Hazel Holander Obituary

Hazel L. (Whitcomb) Holander, age 91, of Attleboro passed away on Tuesday November 2, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Carl M. Holander of 53 years and daughter of the late Earl H. and Lillian M. (Davis) Whitcomb. Hazel was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Attleboro serving as Deacon, Trustee, Past President of the Margaret Cameron Circle and numerous other boards and committees of the church. She was also a former 25 year member of the Theta Beta Chapter of Sigma Phi Gamma and 50 year plus member of Hope Chapter #41, Order of Eastern Star of MA. Hazel was an avid reader, rug weaver, knitter, decorative painter and gardener who enjoyed playing and teaching her grandchildren the piano. Above all else she loved and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters: Carleen Walsh (husband William) of Falmouth, MA, Susan L. Bisceglia of Rye, NY, and Ruth Nolan (husband Dennis) of Attleboro, MA, grandchildren: Jeremiah and Dawn Walsh, Of Mashpee, MA, Rachel Symes (husband Matt) of Wakefield, MA, Catherine Stecich (husband John) of Falmouth, MA, Jason L. Bisceglia (wife Kelly) of Mamaroneck, NY, Peter L. Bisceglia (wife Ciara) of Rye, NY, Gaetan L. Bisceglia (wife Kristina) of Wilton, CT, Alissa Nolan (husband Ben Maguire of Ipswich, MA, Jillian Nolan (companion Brian Minie) of Grafton, MA and Eric Nolan of Attleboro, MA, great grandchildren: Will Symes and Colin Symes of Wakefield, MA, Leo Bisceglia of Mamaroneck, NY, Peter Bisceglia of Rye, NY, and Sienna Bisceglia of Wilton, CT, sister in laws: Leslie Holander and Louise Holander, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother in law of the late Leonard Bisceglia and sister of the late Frank Whitcomb, Carole Burns, Edyth St. Pierre and Mildred Anderson.

Per Hazels request her services are private and are under the care of Foley-Cook-Hathaway Funeral Home 126 South Main St. Attleboro, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023, or to the Alzheimer's Association 225 N.
