It is with full hearts and profound sadness that we share the passing of Janet A. (Martin) Folan, age 77, of North
Attleboro, Massachusetts, formerly of
Mansfield, Massachusetts. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul F. "Bow" Folan, to whom she had been married for 54 years. She joined him on what would have been their 58th wedding anniversary - a tender and fitting moment for two lives so beautifully intertwined.
Born in Norwood, Massachusetts, on October 25, 1948, she was the devoted daughter of the late Edward C. and Isabelle F. (Dray) Martin.
Anyone who knew Janet will remember her quick wit and unmistakable sense of humor. In her younger years she loved being on the tennis court - competitive, lively and always ready for a good match. As she grew older she found just as much joy in watching the sport from her favorite chair, never losing her enthusiasm.
A fiercely loyal and devoted friend, Janet built decades-long strong relationships grounded in honesty, humor and genuine care. She had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel supported and truly valued.
Family remained the center of her world. She leaves behind her children: Julie Sherman and her husband Scott of Plainville, Massachusetts; Colleen Mosley and her husband Robert of Middleboro, Massachusetts; Patrick Folan and his wife Julie of Boise, Idaho; and Cathleen Folan of Los Angeles, California.
She adored her grandchildren - Megan Laserna and her husband Brandon; Amanda Williamson and her husband Evan Sohn; Austin Sherman; Ashley Groscos and her husband Guilherme; Isabelle, Danny and Bobby Mosley; and Rose and Henry Folan. Her five great-grandchildren - Hadley, Enzo, Carter, Niko and Thomas - brought her endless joy and filled her days with the sweetest kind of chaos.
Janet also cherished time spent with her siblings. She loved traveling with her sister Elaine, sharing adventures and laughter wherever they went. She treasured her easy, comforting car rides with her brother Ed. And she held a lasting love for her late brother Mike, remembering him always with warmth and affection. Janet shared a special bond with her sister-in-law Loretta, enjoying countless meaningful moments together. She also cherished her many other sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family. Her family will forever carry her voice, her laughter and her unwavering spirit with them.
Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a Mass in Janet's memory on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Mary's Church in
Mansfield, Massachusetts, followed by a graveside service at Highland Cemetery in Norwood, Massachusetts.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Tufts Medical Center - Nursing Center of Excellence Stroke Fund, 800 Washington Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02111, or online at
