Janice M. Terry

Janice M. Terry, 86, passed away on January 12, 2024. She was the loving wife of Charles P. Terry for over 63 years.

Janice was born in North Dighton and was the daughter of the late Arthur LeFaivre and Helen (Lacerda) LeFaivre.

Mrs. Terry was well known for the time she devoted to the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School Committee. Janice spent over 30 years advocating for special needs students in the district. Her commitment to the needs of these children was truly her life's passion, earning Janice many state commendations and accolades over the years.

Janice enjoyed taking trips the to the casino and traveling with her husband and family to Florida, Alaska and many national parks. Most of all, she was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who would do anything for her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, David W. Terry and his wife Frances of Jamestown, RI, Carl D. Terry of East Taunton and Glenn C. Terry and his wife Dawn of North Dighton; her twin sister, Janet Whitmore of Dighton, sister, Audrey Motta of Taunton; grandchildren, Hayley, Hannah, Danielle, Nicholas, Amy and Anthony; great-grandchildren, Cora and Amari and several nieces and nephews.

Janice was preceded in death by her daughter and best friend Lisa Ann Terry, sister Elizabeth Medeiros, and brother Arthur LeFaivre Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 4-7pm in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton.

Mrs. Terry will be laid to rest privately in the Terry Family Cemetery at their home in North Dighton.
