Jeanne Cavallo Obituary

Jeanne (Farrell) Cavallo, age 92, of Westwood, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 4, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late B. Benjamin Cavallo, to whom she was married for forty-three years at the time of his death on July 2, 2018.

Born in Taunton, MA on May 11, 1933, she was a loving daughter of the late Marcarius J. and Mary D. (Bacaris) Farrell.

Jeanne grew up in Taunton and was a graduate of Saint Mary's School. She continued her education, receiving her nursing degree from the Peter Bent Brigham School of Nursing. She had previously been employed as a registered nurse at Morton Hospital in Taunton and at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston.

A former longtime resident of Mansfield, Jeanne had made her home in the community of Birch Grove at Fox Hill Village in Westwood, for the past six years. She was a communicant of Saint Mary's Church in Mansfield, an accomplished Bridge Player and a BRIDGE LIFE MASTER.

Jeanne's family was the love of her life and she was ever-so-proud of being a grandmother. She enjoyed playing games, cards, trips to area casinos and will be remembered for her remarkable sense of humor and also the ability to brighten the days of those around her with a touch of laughter and love.

She is survived by her devoted son, Benjamin F. Cavallo and his wife Angela of Dedham. She was the cherished grandmother of Sam Cavallo and Ellie Cavallo, both of Dedham. She was the much-loved aunt of Cheryl Depitro and her husband Tom of New Jersey and Joyce Onischewski and her husband Michael of Dedham.

I was saddened to learn of Jeanne's passing, but there is consolation in my memories of her as one of the liveliest people I have ever been blessed to know. Her positive outlook and delightful sense of humor were a gift to all who knew her. As one of her "Bridge Buddies" I was always happy to be her partner, so I could learn from her considerable knowledge of the game. Not only was she always fun to be with, but she was a also role model for her kindness and generosity. Whenever someone new joined our bridge group, she would go out of her way to make them feel welcome. Jeanne was the best, and will be sorely missed. I send my condolences to her family and all who knew and loved her.

I am so sad about Jeanne's passing, but I'm consoled by the memory of her as one of the liveliest people I've ever been fortunate to know. I loved her positive attitude, and her delightful sense of humor. For me she was a "bridge buddy" who was also a role model, for her good nature, kindness, and generosity. Whenever someone new joined our bridge group she would go out of her way to make them feel welcome, and was always eager to share her considerable knowledge of the game. She was the best and will be missed by All who knew her. I send my condolences to her family for their loss.
