I would like to express my sincerest condolences for the loss of Professor Jeffrey Scott. I was a student and teaching assistant in Professor Scott´s Biomaterials course at Brown University. During some of the most trying times of the pandemic when I studied virtually on the West Coast, I looked forward to chatting with Professor Scott after class about the latest biomedical innovations. He always lent a keen ear to my ideas about new technologies, and his supportive feedback led me to realize that I have the potential to become a biomedical innovator. He was truly an outstanding and kind mentor to me, and he even offered to write a letter of recommendation as I apply to medical school. I feel truly blessed to have known Professor Scott, and I will miss him very much.

I worked with Jeff at Bard Davol, our offices were next door to each other. He was a true joy to work with, very down to earth, always smiling and upbeat. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to his wife and children, whom he adored.

I met Prof. Scott last fall semester in his course, even though I only got to talk with him twice, his kindness and advice will stay in my mind forever. I'll remember him as a great mentor and friend. Please kindly accept my deepest condolences to the Scott family for this enormous loss.
And I'd like to share the only two class recordings that I participated in if they could help a little bit at this time. Please let me know if I should remove the links if it's inappropriate, but I will keep the recording because they are great lessons to me.

My heart goes out to Professor Scott´s family and friends. I was a student in his Biomaterials course last year at Brown and was his teaching assistant for this semester. Prof. Scott was the most genuine, passionate, and caring professor I´ve ever met, and it was both an honor and a privilege to learn from him. He has greatly inspired many of my classmates and I and will forever be remembered and greatly missed by the Brown community.

I'll remember Prof. Scott as a warm and generous professor and mentor. I only took one class with him, but he was always there to give me advice and support, writing recommendations for grad school and sitting on my thesis committee. My deepest condolences to the Scott family for this enormous loss.

I met Jeff In 1996. I had the honour and good fortune to sit next to him in Biology, a meeting that truly had a long lasting impact on my life; as Jeff explained that he was taking the class for the second time, because his 87% wasn´t high enough the first time around, I knew that success in this world meant digging deeper and expecting more from yourself! I did better because of him and I´ve always been grateful for my grade 11 biology lab partner!
I will always remember Jeff as the kindest, most intelligent, most accomplished friend, with the BIGGEST smile and biggest heart. There are no words for this incredible loss - may he Rest In Peace.
A forever grateful friend...
