Joseph Graham Obituary

Joseph Graham, age 90, of Norton, passed away peacefully, in the presence of his adoring family, on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the home of his daughter in Norton. He was the beloved husband of the late Betty J. (Pryor) Graham, to whom he was happily wed for fifty-five years at the time of her death on May 18, 2014.

Born in Boston, MA on August 24, 1935, he was a loving son of the late Frank and Lillian B. (Andrews) Graham.

As a child, Joe moved with his family to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada and at the age of eleven they returned to the United Sates, settling in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. He continued his studies and was a 1955 graduate of Brookline High School, where he excelled in basketball. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving during the time of the Vietnam War. Following four years of proud and faithful service to his country, he was honorably discharged from duty on October 27, 1959.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Graham was employed in various capacities for over thirty-five years at General Electric, retiring from the company's Westwood Plant. A resident of Norton for the past fifty-eight years, he loved spending time with his treasured family and was a member of the Norton VFW Post # 8049.

An avid New England sports fan, Joe's hobbies included yardwork at his home in Norton, saltwater fishing, golfing with friends at the Stone-E-Lea Golf Club in Attleboro, playing cards and doing jigsaw puzzles. When younger, along with his daughters and late wife Betty, they were avid NASCAR fans, enjoyed attending racing events at the former Norwood Arena and being members of the "First Turn Fan Club".

He is survived by his devoted daughters, Belinda A. Jolly and her husband Mark of Norton and Rhonda S. Silva and her husband Joseph of Moseley, Virginia. He is also survived by his cherished nine grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, as well as three nieces and one nephew.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, September 22nd from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd at 11:00 A.M. in the Trinitarian Congregational Church, East Main and Pine Streets, Norton. Burial, accompanied by military honors, will follow at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.
