Joe was a Marine Veteran based in Camp Lejeune in North Carolina where he was set to be deployed to Cuba during the "Bay of Pigs" crisis in 1961 until the operation was called off. He worked at Texas Instruments and Engelhard as a Rolling Mill Operator. Later in life, as a friend of "Bill's" he furthered his education at Stonehill College with a degree in Substance Addictions Treatment and finished his career at Norcap Lodge (formerly Southwood Hospital) as a Drug and Addictions Counselor where he helped many people achieve long-term recovery. Throughout his life, he went out of his way to help those in need in whatever capacity he could.
He most valued spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed all sports, especially watching the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. Despite his health challenges throughout the years, Joe always brought laughter to a room where he charmed and captivated with his quick-witted humor and devilishly handsome smile. He will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to know him.
The family would like to acknowledge Dr. John Adams for all of the years he cared for Joe and also Beacon Hospice, Fall River for their kind and compassionate care over the past several weeks.
