Leonard G. "Mitch" Mitchell, 82, of North Attleboro, MA passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, November 11, 2021. He was the husband of Nancy (Prescott) Mitchell to whom he married on June 27, 1964, and treasured the 57 years they shared in matrimony.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he was a son of the late Samuel G. Mitchell and the late Marion (Benson) Mitchell.
He was a loyal and longtime member of Central Congregational Church of Attleboro Falls where he served as trustee.
Mr. Mitchell was employed by the former Foxboro Company in Foxboro for 39 years prior to his retirement.
A member of the Masons for over 50 years, he served as past master of the Temple Lodge and was also a member of Roger Williams Lodge.
In his youth, he was a member of the DeMolay where he was Master Councilor and was awarded the degree of Chevalier.
He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served for two years before attending and graduating from DeVry University in Chicago, Illinois.
Mr. Mitchell was a member of the North Attleboro Elks Lodge.
He loved being active, making new friends and helping people.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his son: Guy Mitchell and his wife, Christine Mitchell, of North Attleboro, MA; his daughter: Heather Menz and her husband, James Menz, of Quincy, MA; his grandchildren: Sophia, Jimmy, Gavin, Peter, Arianna, Grant, Hannah, Sammy, Olivia, and Noah; and his sister: Jane Taylor.
He was the brother-in-law of Louise Mitchell, Linda Linehan, Gail Eastman, William Prescott, Deborah Prescott, Melissa Palanza, Michael Wing, Kathy Cutillo, and the late Marilen Prescott, the late Jimmy Linehan, the late Bill Eastman, and the late Allan Taylor.
He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Mitchell.
Mr. Mitchell also leaves several nieces and nephews.
The family gratefully acknowledges the wonderful care provided by the Old Colony Hospice.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Saturday, November 20, 2021, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the Central Congregational Church vestry located in the lower level of the church, 115 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. Please enter the vestry through the parking lot entrance. Masks must be worn at all times.
A Funeral Service will immediately follow visitation in the Central Congregational Church vestry at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Carole Baker, officiating.
Burial will follow in Spring Brook Cemetery, Mansfield, MA.

With regret the family will not have a collation due to the current epidemic and appreciate attendees understanding.
