Mary Louise (Norton) Barton, 77, of Wrentham, passed peacefully on September 17, 2021, in Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late William Barton, Jr., who passed in 2019, and mother of the late William Barton, III.
Born in Riverdale, Maryland, on May 26, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Francis X. and Kathryn B. (Morse) Norton.
Mary Lou graduated from Weymouth High School in 1962. She worked as a chef at several local restaurants and most recently at Bubble King Laundromat in Plainville. She was an election worker in Wrentham for many years, always a friendly face at the polls. Mary Lou loved the ocean and enjoyed vacationing in Maine, Cape Cod, and Saint Augustine, Florida. She was a talented florist and loved to craft unique arrangements for her loved ones. Mary Lou enjoyed cooking, reading, and spending time with her family and friends in Wrentham.
Mary Lou is survived by her siblings, John Norton of Whitman, Richard Norton and his wife Patricia of Rockland, Michael Joseph Norton of Abington, the late Arthur I. Norton of Boston, Carol Sullivan and her husband Ronald of Marlboro, Elizabeth Herendeen and her husband Paul of St. Augustine, Florida, William Norton of Weymouth, and Marguerite Hearn and her husband James of Hanson. She was the beloved "Auntie Moo" of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, September 27, from 3-7 PM in the RJ Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, Wrentham. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, September 28, at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Wrentham Center Cemetery.
