Mary Irene O'Neil

1930 - 2021

Mary Irene (Duarte) O'Neill, 90, of North Attleboro, MA went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family on Monday, September 27, 2021, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late James Charles O'Neill who died in 1977.

Born in Taunton, MA on December 9, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Frank S. Duarte and the late Mary (Pinherio) Duarte. She was raised and educated in Taunton where she attended Taunton High School. She was a North Attleboro resident for the past 30 years.

Prior to devoting herself to being a homemaker for her family, Mrs. O'Neill was employed at New York Lace Couture in Taunton.

She was a child prodigy of the piano and remained an active pianist until very recently.

One of her favorite pastimes was playing cribbage but her greatest joy was spending time creating lifelong memories with her family.

She leaves three children: Dennis Michael O'Neill with whom she resided in North Attleboro, MA; Rev. James Francis O'Neill, Pastor of Meetinghouse Church in Mansfield, MA and his wife, Sandra (Young) O'Neill, of Attleboro, MA and Mary Elizabeth Kraskouskas and her husband, Michael Kraskouskas, of Rehoboth, MA; four grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; her siblings: John Duarte of Assonet, MA; Natalie Donnelly of Taunton, MA and Nancy Higgins of Marietta, Ohio and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was the sister of the late Frank Duarte of East Falmouth, MA and the late James Duarte of Taunton, MA.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of the MeetingHouse Church, 11 Otis Street, Mansfield, MA followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. officiated by her son, Rev. James F. O'Neill.

Private graveside services will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton, MA.
