Maureen M. Desrocher, 88, of Mansfield, passed peacefully on September 13, 2021 in the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Wrentham. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph J. Desrocher, Jr.
Born in Salem, MA on November 5, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Horatio and Cornelia (Verbeek) Nelson. Maureen was an artist who loved to paint, especially portraits. She taught art and along with her husband Ralph, established a foundation to raise money for Alzheimer's research and funded it through portrait painting and instructing Alzheimer patients. She inspired
countless others to pick up a brush. She also worked in the real estate and travel fields in earlier days. Loved to travel and especially loved Florida where they resided for many years before settling back in her hometown of Mansfield in retirement.
Maureen is survived by her two sons; Brian Desrocher of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, and Alan Desrocher of Ft. Pierce, Florida. Also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Susan Desrocher.
Funeral arrangements are private at the RJ Ross Funeral Home, Wrentham.
