Paul Costain Obituary

Paul Richard Costain (70 years old) lost his battle with cancer on July 23, 2024. He was the son of the late William Costain and Dorothy (Perkins) Costain of West Newbury. He leaves behind his wife Mary (Myers) of 43 years. He also leaves his son Adam and his wife Fernanda Costain Garcia in Connecticut, son Andrew and his wife Andra in California, daughter Marisa Pelleteri and her husband Tony in Maine. Grandpa will also be missed by his grandchildren Nicolás and Camila Costain Garcia, Cassandra and Nathaniel Costain, and Rosanna Pelleteri.

Paul started his career working in the environmental industry in various roles. However, he decided to change his career to move into the IT world. He became a SalesForce.com administrator for various companies, ending his career as a Business Analyst for Rapid7.

Paul was an avid reader, being a long-time member of the book of the month club. The puzzle table will be empty without the perpetual rotating array of puzzles he enjoyed. The backyard will never be as well tended by anyone else. Paul could be found year-round 'puttering' in the yard – shoveling the never-ending New England snow, chopping wood, using the chipper, planting vegetables, harvesting vegetables, building rock walls, hanging clothes, etc. Paul was also a loyal sports fan of the Boston teams (Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Patriots) and could often be heard either cheering or expressing displeasure at the referees, players, and television commercials.

Paul is survived by his brothers Rick and wife Glenda in Oregon, Brent and wife Betsy Brandborg in Montana, Timothy and wife Anne in Massachusetts, identical twin Michael in New Hampshire and sister Jennifer in Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his brother Robert of New York. Paul also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30 South Street, Foxborough, MA. A Memorial Service will immediately follow. To send an on-line condolence please visit the funeral home website at www.robertsandsonsfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you read a book, spend time outside, walk your pet, take in a game or figure out a way to keep the darn deer, bunnies and other critters away from the vegetables you planted.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

I had the honor of working with Paul at Rapid7. He was a great partner and I truly enjoyed working with him. I loved that his screen background showcased his garden and we often talked during our weekly Monday meetings about what vegetables he had harvested the previous weekend. He spoke so enthusiastically about his kids and grandchildren. I'm so very sorry to hear of his passing. My fond memories of Paul bring you peace during this very difficult time.
