Phyllis Marie (Powers) Philbrook, 88, died on Monday, June 14, 2021 at Hope Help Hospice in Providence, Rhode Island. She was born July 1, 1932 and was the daughter of the late James E. and Lucy E. Powers.
She was the wife of the late Richard Paul Philbrook. They married in 1953 at the United Methodist Church in Nashua, NH. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage before Richard's passing on the 14th of May, 2006.
Throughout the years, Phyllis worked as a secretary for Indian Head Millwork and O.K Door and Window, both in South Yarmouth, MA. Phyllis was a member of the United Methodist Church where her and Richard were married. She was an original member of the "Suburban-ettes," and was associated with Nashua Drum and Bugle Corp. Phyllis helped organize the team and enjoyed going to California to march along with her youngest daughter, Christine, in the Rose Bowl. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed coaching the children at her local bowling alley. She and Richard loved the outdoors and liked going camping in several New England areas with their neighborhood friends.
Besides Phyllis's loving husband, she is also predeceased by her daughter Cheryl A. Philbrook.
Phyllis is survived by her sons Dennis Philbrook and his wife of Attleboro, MA., Steven G. Philbrook of Punta Gorda, Florida, Richard A. Philbrook and his wife of Washington; daughters Pamela J. Philbrook of Mansfield, MA., Lynne M. Newton of Taunton, MA., Christine D. Philbrook of W. Yarmouth, MA; siblings, Stan, Ken, and Beverley; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
SERVICES: Visitation will be held at the Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH. from 10am to 12noon on Saturday, June 19, 2021. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel of the Davis Funeral Home, Saturday at 12noon, with Pastor Douglas Rickard officiating. Interment prayers and burial will immediately follow at Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst St., Nashua, NH. Healthy family and friends are invited to attend.
