Robert L. MacDonald Sr. of Lakeville, formerly of Norfolk and Boston, passed on January 25, 2023, at the age of 80.
Bobby was born in Boston on November 27, 1942, he was the son of the late Grant and Grace (Sebastian) MacDonald and was the 4th of 16 siblings.
As part of a large family Bobby learned early on the importance of hard work. He spent his childhood years helping support his family eventually landing jobs at Clorox and Continental Coffee before venturing out on his own and creating the MacDonald Company and providing sales and service to restaurants throughout New England. Bobby and Linda ran this successful business for many years before briefly retiring to northern Maine only to get the entrepreneurial urge again and moving back to Massachusetts and launching Bobby Mac's, another successful business in the restaurant service industry.
At the age of 18 Bobby met and married the love of his life, Linda, and together they built a home with their 4 children in Norfolk. Bobby always wanted to make everyone happy and always wanted to provide a place for not only his immediate family but his extended family where fun times and memories could be made. Throughout the years Bobby and Linda owned several properties in New Hampshire and Vermont and always made these available to their entire family. It was at these places where Bobby became known for ghost stories around the campfire. If you ask anyone in the family where the best times were they always say at Bobby's camp.
Bobby was the husband of Linda (Cook) MacDonald. The loving father to Brenda Carter and husband Niles of Lakeville, Robert MacDonald Jr and wife Kathleen of Falmouth, Brian MacDonald and fiancée Elizabeth of Newport, Rhode Island, and Keith MacDonald and wife Elizabeth of Attleboro. A loving grandfather to Chrysti Dufort and husband Aaron, Bonnie Mota, Amanda MacDonald, Emily MacDonald, Isabella MacDonald, Zachary MacDonald, Benjamin MacDonald, Alexander MacDonald, and Julia MacDonald. The loving great grandfather to Jacob, Nicholas, Lillian, and Christopher Dufort and Carter and Camden Mota.
