Sandra "Sandy" Bryda, 77, of East Falmouth, passed into life eternal on September 6, 2021, with her husband, John, at her side, at the Cape Regency Rehabilitation and Health Center in Centerville, MA.
Sandy was born in Pawtucket, RI to the late Royal and Edna Sandland.
She grew up in No. Attleboro and graduated from high school 1961. Sandy married John Bryda on March 16, 1963.
Sandy fought a courageous three-month battle with cancer, and previously beat breast cancer six years prior. Health issues forced Sandy to be a stay-at-home wife and grandmother in 1996 but it was a role she embraced. Sandy's love of her granddaughters and great granddaughter through the years was unconditional. "Nana" would always have a smile and some words of wisdom to help solve anything a little one would have on their plate. Sandra's most recent accomplishment while at home was helping her husband John improve his culinary skills, and overall, she was successful, besides his deficient of use garlic. Granddaughter Nora awarded Papa Fish with his own personal apron, thanks to Nana, well done Sandra.
The family would like to all the wonderful staff at Cape Regency and Hospice team for their exceptional care and compassion, shown, Thank you. Additionally, special Kudos to Sandra's "little sister" Donna for her love and loyalty through the years on staying in touch daily.
In addition to her husband, Sandy is survived by two sons, John Bryda Jr., and wife Gina, of Franklin, MA, and Todd Bryda, and wife Pamela, of Torrington, CT; granddaughters, Nicole Bryda, of East Falmouth, and Eleanor Bryda, of Torrington, CT; great granddaughter Oliva Gomez, of East Falmouth; her brothers, Edward Sandland, of Norton, MA, Earl Sandland, of Narragansett, RI, Carl Sandland, of Boston, MA, Ernest Sandland, of No. Attleboro, MA, and Arthur Sandland, of Carver, MA; her sisters, Deborah Bencivenga, of Plainville, MA, and Donna Soullier, of Laconia, NH; as well as her sister-in-law, Kathy Sandland, of Plainville, MA. Sandy was preceded in death by her brother Walter Sandland, and daughter-in-law Nadine Nolin Bryda.
Memorial visitation will be held 5-7 pm, on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 475 Main Street, Falmouth. Sandy will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Oak Grove Cemetery, in Falmouth.
