Stephen Quinn Obituary

Stephen H. Quinn, age 74, of Middleboro, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at the Morton Hospital in Taunton. He was the beloved husband of Judith A. (Boyson) Quinn, to whom he was wed for fifty-three years.

Born in Medford, MA on February 12, 1949, he was a loving son of the late Harold E. and Pauline B. (Laverty) Quinn.

Steve grew up in the Allston neighborhood of Boston and was a 1966 graduate of Christopher Columbus High School. He continued his studies, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree from Northeastern University and later received his Master's Degree from Leslie College.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Quinn was employed as a Graphic Arts Instructor at the Framingham Correctional Center for Women. He previously worked for many years in the printing industry and also as a teacher at Braintree Technical High School.

A resident of Oak Point in Middleboro for the past seven years, Steve was a former fifty-year resident of Mansfield where he served as a former Mansfield Auxiliary Police Officer and a Bristol County Deputy Sheriff. While living in Mansfield, he was a communicant and former CCD Teacher at Saint Mary's Church in Mansfield. He was also a former member of the Mansfield Finance Committee, the Mansfield Planning Board, was quite active with Mansfield Midget Football and a longtime present member of the Foxborough Knights of Columbus.

Stephen's favorite times by far were those spent in the presence of his adoring family. He was an avid New England sports fan, enjoyed watching Notre Dame Football games, fishing, photography and was ever-so-proud of his Irish Heritage.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted sons: Stephen H. Quinn, Jr. and his wife Allyson of Martha's Vineyard and Jeffrey A. Quinn and his wife Ruth of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He was the cherished grandfather of Evanna Quinn of Marth's Vineyard. He was the dear brother of Marilyn Quinn of Florida, Diane Malcuit and her husband Mark of Rhode Island, Theresa Quinn of Florida, Patricia Chiler and her husband Michael of Webster and the late Kathleen Draper. He is also survived by his much-loved aunt Katherine Jack and her husband James of Peabody, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, July 1st from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

A service will be held at the conclusion of visitation at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield.
