Thomas Richard Audette

1947 - 2023

Thomas Richard Audette, 75, of Easton, MD, a loving partner, brother, uncle and cousin died on January 3, 2023 in Easton. He is survived by his beloved Michael Livers, to whom he was a devoted partner for 48 years.

Born in Attleboro on September 18, 1947, Tom was a son of the late George and Rita (McGovern) Audette. He was a 1965 graduate from Attleboro High School and attended the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting in 1970. Tom was active in theatre and the arts throughout high school and college.

He spent his childhood days surrounded by his siblings and cousinsat his home close to Capron Park and Holy Ghost Church. The joyful highlights of his early summers were family cookouts, Capron Park fireworks and the many weekends he spent on the water at Ezekial Pond in Plymouth.

Tom lived in the Boston area for more than 40 years where he had a diverse career, working in early childhood education and financial services.

A lifetime enthusiast for interior design, he and Michael drew great joy from hosting friends, family and neighbors at their homes, including the many happy memories made at their long-time home in Dorchester. He loved the time he spent with his nieces and nephew.

Tom never lost his passion for the arts, and he was an eloquent speaker and writer. He penned thoughtful, detailed and often humorous letters to his loved ones until his final days. He also developed a love for gardening and spent many days tending to his gardens in Easton.

Tom remained a loving and kind man throughout his life despite facing many hurdles and health battles.

Tom is also survived by a brother, Phillip G. Audette of Attleboro; a sister, Catherine A. Fisher and her husband William K. Fisher of South Dennis, MA; three nieces: Lauren M. Warner, Renee A. McMahon, and Hollice K. Skillin, a nephew: Mason A. Fisher, five great nieces and nephews, and many cousins. He was a loving brother to the late John A. Audette and brother-in-law to the late Janet A. Audette.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. For those who wish to honor the life of Mr. Audette, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.
