On Sept. 29, 2021, Shirley Jean Florine Brock left this earthly realm and joined our Heavenly Father. Daughters, and son in law were by her bed side. No matter how sick she was, she always shared a smile and love for others. Shirley stayed young and through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. That mischievous smile and wonderful sense of humor enjoyed by anyone who met her.
Born in Saint Joseph, Missouri 85 years ago. Shirley then met Jim (Charles) Brock and off they went around the world traveling with the US Army, KMAG. Four children and many pets later landed in Spokane, WA 50 years ago. Shirley was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for animals and others. She volunteered her entire life daily no matter where she lived. Building an orphanage in Seoul, Korea, Chair for the building of an elementary school and Dormitory in the United Republic of Tanzania, collecting and sending needed clothes, books and supplies abroad for those in need. Auctions and breakfasts too many to list for the Spokane Chapter of Catholic Daughters and Altar Society. Shirley was truly a caring individual and loved by so many. Babies were her soft spot, all babies. She provided so much love and support to her family, including nieces and nephews. Shirley is survived by her daughters Imae' Brock Oaksford (Jeannie), Debra Brock Conery (Debbie), son in law Robert S Oaksford and many grandsons with one granddaughter.
