Benjamin Tillman Turner, Jr., 88, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at White Oak Manor in Newberry, SC.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel with Navy Honors. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SC Advocates for Epilepsy, Inc.
He was the son of the late Benjamin T. Turner, Sr. and Marie F. Turner of Augusta, GA. Mr. Turner was a native of Augusta, GA, who made his home in Orangeburg, SC. He was an avid Gamecock fan, having been a football season ticket holder for over 30 years. Mr. Turner retired from Greenwood Mills in Orangeburg as a Master Electrician and Maintenance Supervisor. He wired hundreds of homes in the Orangeburg area. Mr. Turner served in the US Navy from 1954 - 1962 and was a Korean War Veteran.
Surviving include his wife of 61 years, Patricia E. Turner of Chapin; sons, Joseph D. Turner (Cheryl) of Chapin, SC and Benjamin T. Turner, III (Amy) of Lexington, SC; daughters, Kimberly Jones (Ed), of Richardson, TX and Angela Stump (Ed), of Avon, IN; grandchildren, Kristione Cotty, of Avon, IN, Brennan Miller (Emily), of Richmond, VA, Erin Granade (Aaron), of Lexington, SC; a great-granddaughter, AvaGrace Granade of Lexington, SC; sisters, Edna Hutton and Jeane Beard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his two grandchildren, Jessica Turner and Ryan Turner.
