Patricia Cauthen Obituary
ORANGEBURG - Patricia "Patsy" Harley Cauthen, 90, of Orangeburg, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 22, 2025. Born in Bamberg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Horace Edwin and Ruby Godowns Harley. She was preceded in death by her sister Jeannine Harley Bishop.
A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg SC on Saturday October 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Bennie Williams officiating.
Patsy was married to the late James Carlisle Cauthen, Jr. of Georgetown, SC. They divorced in 1974. Patsy graduated from Orangeburg High School in 1952 and attended the University of South Carolina (1952-1954) where she was a majorette. She was a homemaker who later worked as a secretary at Greenwood Mills, classroom aide in the Orangeburg Public Schools, church secretary at Bethel Fellowship Church and meeting leader for Weight Watchers.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Cauthen Jennings (Shannon) of Hamstead, NC; sons, James "Jim" Carlisle Cauthen lll (Lisa) of St. Simons Island, GA, and Dwight Moseley Cauthen (Melissa) of Columbia SC; grandchildren, Thomas Shannon Jennings (Julie), Laura Jennings Futrell (Adam), Sarah Cauthen Brooks (Benjamin), David Ellison Cauthen (Amanda), Dwight Moseley Cauthen Jr. (Brittany), Charles Barton Cauthen and 10 great grandchildren.
