ORANGEBURG - Raymond Lewis Robinson, born on April 11, 1942, in Orangeburg, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on September 19, 2025. He was a devoted family man and a loyal friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and respect. Raymond was a man of few words but deep conviction, known for his quiet strength and unwavering dedication to those he cared for.
Raymond enjoyed a distinguished career, having been employed with Albemarle as a chemical operator for many years before his retirement. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were traits that defined his professional life. Beyond his career, he served proudly in the United States Army Reserves, illustrating his sense of duty and service to his country.
In his leisure time, Raymond found joy in several hobbies; he loved hunting, bowling, fishing, and watching Fox News. These interests not only provided personal fulfillment but also allowed him to share cherished moments with family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Patsy Brunson Robinson; his sons, Jimmy Robinson, Ray Robinson, and Ricky Robinson; brothers, L.S. Robinson (Faye), and Edward Robinson (Loretta); and his sister-in-law, Greta Brunson Bircheat. Additionally, Raymond is remembered by a number of nieces and nephews who held him dear.
Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lever and Dollie Mae Myers Robinson; and his siblings Georgia Lou Walker, Frances Dailey, Eugene Robinson, Richard Robinson, and Jimmy Robinson.
The family invites friends to join them for a viewing on September 27, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel located at 1012 Whitman St., S.E., Orangeburg, S.C. 29115.
Raymond Lewis Robinson will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him and love him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all those whose lives he touched.
