ORANGEBURG, SC - Rozanne Ayers Campbell, 92, of Orangeburg, SC, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 8, 2025. She was married to the late Samuel Dean Campbell.
A graveside service was previously held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday, November 12th at 11:00 am with Reverend Ryan Tucker officiating.
Rozanne was born in Orangeburg, SC, the daughter of Sallie Hewitt Ayers and Melvin Hornick Ayers. As a student at Orangeburg High School, she met Dean and commenced their 68-year union. Rozanne attended Winthrop College and graduated with a degree in Home Economics. While Dean was overseas in the Korean War, Rozanne taught Home Economics in Summerville, SC. In 1967, Dean and Rozanne returned to Orangeburg where they reunited with family and friends. Rozanne was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church and a member of the Couples Sunday School Class.
Rozanne was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brother-in-law, Dr. Roy Campbell, her sister-in-law, Robin Campbell, and her brother-in-law, Gelzer Sims.
Survivors include her children: Mark (Lisa) Campbell, Greg (Cathy) Campbell, Sallie (Terry) Koon, Tara (Brett) Yongue, and Holly (Rob) Gamble; grandchildren: Kira (Nick) Watson, Camden (Emily) Yongue, Cody Campbell, Samuel (Dani) Campbell, Rebekah (Ken) Wadley, Peyton (Chris) Kimball, Zachary(Emily) Koon, Madison (Preston) Snell, Brogdon (Emily) Gamble, Cole Campbell, and Luke Gamble; great-grandchildren: Campbell Koon, Athena Campbell, Claire Yongue, Rosie Wadley, Carter Snell, Zeke Koon, Donny Wadley, Annie Snell, Jack Yongue, Greyson Kimball, and John Wadley; sister-in-law: Betty Jo Campbell Sims; and special friends, Lib Gleaton and Mary Verner Philhower.
The family is forever grateful to her amazing caregivers Beverly Small, Annette Smith, and Shanice Brown, for their infinite love and kindness, as well as Dr. Lamar Dawkins and Grove Park Hospice's team with special appreciation to Shannon, Tammy, Buck, and Vicki for their wonderful care and steadfast support.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 637 Orangeburg, SC 29116, to Connie Maxwell Children's Ministries, P. O. Box 1178 Greenwood, SC 29648-1178, or to a
charity of one's choice.
