Ann Blasa
East Alton - Ann L. Blasa, 87, passed away June 21, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 10, 1936 in Davis County, IN, she was the daughter of James D. and Tommie (Thorp) Lemmon.
Ann worked years ago at J.C. Penney as well as Wood River Township Hospital as a Physical Therapy transporter. Most recently she worked at the information center at Alton Square. She had previously been a member at Whitelaw Avenue Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School and Bible School. She was currently an active member of First Baptist Church of Bethalto, where she and her husband participated in their seniors group. Ann enjoyed decorating and was talented at arranging flowers. She made many great friends throughout her life.
She married Virgil Kenneth Blasa Dec. 20, 1952 in Pocahontas, AR. Together they shared over 71 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Gene (Dianne) Blasa of Wood River, Mark (Cindy) Blasa of Bethalto, and Lori (John) Hueneger of Bethalto; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Blasa, Amy (Steven) Bryant, Timothy Blasa, Nathan (Tiffany) Blasa, Lauren (Joel) Claytor, Lindsay (Eric) Slover, and Drew (Jenna) Hueneger; her great grandchildren, Matthew, Alexis, Jessica, Mason, Sydney, Grayson, Anderson, Clark, Grant, Josalyn, Alex, Ariana, Luke and Jack; her brother, James M. (Sue) Lemmon of Moline, IL; a nephew and two nieces, Craig, Stephanie, and JoEllyn; and her brother-in-law, Jim Blasa of Rosewood Heights.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 25 at First Baptist Church in Bethalto from 10 a.m. until services begin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be made to St. Louis Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
