Worden - Betty A. Emrich, 90, of Worden, Illinois, passed away peacefully with her three daughters by her side on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon, Illinois. She was born January 27, 1933 in Staunton, Illinois, the daughter of the late Harold & Anna (Pieper) Jung. She married Roy I. Emrich on June 6, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden, Illinois & he passed away on September 2, 2018.
She began her working career as an Administrative Assistant with the Civil Service for a few years in both Missouri & Texas before working as a Bookkeeper for Emrich True Value Hardware in Worden & Staunton, Illinois for many years.
Betty was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Worden, Illinois; the Ladies Aid of the church; a long-standing member of the Church Finance Committee; & served the church in other capacities as well. She enjoyed Tole painting, baking, canning, & going dancing with her husband Roy & their friends.
Her family recently honored her with a surprise 90th birthday celebration, which Betty called "The greatest surprise she ever had!"
She is survived by her three daughters - Deborah (David) Roberts of Keller, Texas, Diane (Dean) Weishaupt of Winchester, Tennessee, & Donna (Timothy) Bruns of Huntsville, Alabama; six grandchildren - Rachel (Christopher) Cunningham of Franklin, TN, Emily (Phillip) Sharp of Chapel Hill, TN, Courtney (Kel) Casto of Buda, TX, Connor (Addie) Roberts of Richardson, TX, Garrett Bruns of Kalamazoo, MI, & Gavin Bruns of St. Louis, MO; five great grandchildren - Collins & Lawson Cunningham, Mabel & Evelyn Sharp, & Judah Casto; a sister - Sandra Windau of Springfield, IL; several nieces & nephews also survive.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden, Illinois. Visitation continues on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 9 to 10 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden, IL. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 10 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden, Illinois, with Rev. Heath Curtis officiating. Interment will follow in Worden Lutheran Cemetery in Worden, Illinois. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church of Worden, Illinois.
