BETTY MOHR
JERSEYVILLE — Betty Loris Mohr, 88, died at 6:06 a.m., Thursday, July 28, 2016, surrounded by love at the Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Jerseyville on Aug. 27, 1927, and was the daughter of William and Myrtle (Barnard) Willis.
Betty graduated from Jersey Township High School, and was employed as a bookkeeper for Wells- Norris in Jerseyville for many years.
She was a member of the Fidelity Assembly of God, and despite sustaining devastating losses of those she loved dearly, Betty never wavered in her faith.
Her strong devotion and love for her family never wavered, and the memories she created for her family will never be forgotten.
She married William Dale Mohr on May 22, 1954, in Sentobia, Mississippi, and together they shared 34 years and the joys of their five children prior to his death on Sept. 29, 1988.
Surviving are her daughter, Elaine Fowler of Jerseyville; two sons, Craig Mohr of Jerseyville and David Mohr of Naples, Florida.; three grandchildren and their spouses, Chad and Amy Mohr of Jerseyville, Sara and Joe Banks of Columbus, Georgia., and Bryan Mohr of Centerville, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Judah Banks and Leighton Mohr.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death her daughter, Christy Jane Mohr on Jan. 6, 2014; a son, William Shane Mohr on Nov. 26, 2015; a grandson, Christopher Mohr on March 21, 1996; a brother, Bernard Nie Willis; her mother, Myrtle Willis; and her father and stepmother, William and Stella Willis.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 1 at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2. Her grandson-in-law, Rev. Joe Banks will officiate.
She will be laid to rest with her family at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
Memorials may be given to the Riverbend Humane Society of Jerseyville.
