Chris Wittman
Godfrey - Christopher M. Wittman, 49, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Chris was born March 30, 1975 in Litchfield, IL. He worked his whole life as a steelworker, most recently for Trinity Steel in St. Charles, MO.
He married Jessa L. Chappee May 22, 1999 and they shared 25 years of marriage together.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Paige Wittman and her fiancé Elvis Leka, and Maya Wittman, all of Godfrey; his father and stepmother, Mark and Jeanie Wittman of Brighton; his mother and stepfather, Debbie and John Higgins of Glen Carbon; a sister, Kaitlin Wittman of Greenville, SC; three brothers, Greg Wittman of Fenton, MO, Lucas (Brittany) Wittman of Alton, and Connor Wittman of Richmond, VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Anne Wittman and Bill and Doris Karnes.
The family will hold a memorial visitation on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at the First Presbyterian Church in Edwardsville from 9:30 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society.
