Clayton D Glass
Wood River - Clayton D. Glass, 83, passed away 6: 12 am, Friday, July 5, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born August 19, 1940 in Harrisburg, he was the son of Charles Clayton and Beuneta (Chandler) Glass.
A U.S. Army veteran, he had been employed as a machine tender for the Jefferson-Smurfit Corporation for 33 years before retiring.
On October 6, 1962 in Wood River, he married Judith Schwarz who survives.
Surviving also are four daughters, Tina (Roger) Cope of South Roxana,Tammy (Amrel) Carroll of Meadowbrook, Terri (Merle) Dehne of Port Charlotte, FL, Anita (John) Arrington of Bowling Green, OH; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard Glass, Dugan Glass; and a sister, Betty Snider.
Visitation will be from 11 am until time of service on July 9, 2024 at 12 pm at Lifebrook Church in Bethalto. Pastor Matt Hale will officiate.
Cremation rites will follow the service.
Memorials are suggested to Lifebrook Church.
Marks Mortuary in Wood River entrusted with arrangements.
