ROBERTA WATKINS
WOOD RIVER — Constance Roberta Watkins, 77, passed away at 2:33 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2016.
Born August 31, 1939, in Higbee, Missouri, she was the daughter of Alvin Heathman and Constance E. (Kirby) Suire.
A letter carrier and clerk for the U.S. Postal Service in Roxana for 30 years, she retired in 2000.
A member of the Wood River Eagles and Women of the Moose Lodge #1349, she enjoyed fishing and traveling to Las Vegas and Tunica, Mississippi.
Surviving are three sons, Gregory Watkins of Hartford, Christopher Watkins of East Alton, Patrick Watkins of Brighton; six grandchildren; half-brother, Joe Suire of West Virginia; two sisters, Sandra Kay Gantz of Rosewood Heights, Robin Burns of East Alton; and long-time companiion, Ron King of Wood River.
Her parents; and brother, Ronald Heathman preceded in death.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, October 14 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 15.
Burial will follow in Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.

Bert was a very dear friend of mine and my brother Ron's best friend & love for over 30 years. We enjoyed so many things together, traveling, dancing, playing cards, & of course eating. RIP Bert. I will never forget you.

Bert was a constant companion to my brother Ron, for over 30 years, such a joy to be around. We went on a cruise together and to Las Vegas, besides all the other good memories we shared. She will truly be missed by so many Love, Carol
