DANIEL GODWIN
ALTON — Daniel J. Godwin, 49, passed away unexpectedly at 3:07 a.m. Sunday Oct. 5, 2014, at St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton with his wife by his side.
He was born on Nov. 22, 1964, in Madison, Wis., the son of Joseph and Kathryn (Glassey) Godwin.
He married the former Mary Ann Dodd on June 22, 1990, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton. She survives.
He worked for Boeing for more than 25 years, and was a Special Software Program Manager. He loved his dog Harley and enjoyed raising St. Bernards. He also loved computer gaming and had several online friendships with computer gamers.
In addition to his wife, Mary Ann, he is also survived by his parents, Joseph and Kathryn Godwin of Alton; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Stuart Sinks of Brighton; three special nieces and nephews, Sydney and Jack Sinks, and Katie Flat; and Mary Ann Godwin's son, Chad Doellman of Alton; and extended family.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 8, at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday Oct. 9, 2014.
Cremation will follow.
Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
