DANIEL HOCHSTUHL
GODFREY — Daniel Glen Hochstuhl, 85, died Saturday, Dec. 24, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois.
Born March 5, 1931 in Godfrey, he was the son of Eugene H. and Rose (Bachman) Hochstuhl. Mr. Hochstuhl served in the U.S. Army as a photo interpreter. Daniel retired in 1992 after 30+ years working as a sheet metal worker with Canham Sheet Metal, Walter Metal Prefabrication, and Modern Plumbing and Heating; He was a member of the Upper Alton Baptist Church, the American Legion Post, Sheet Metal Workers Local 268 and loved woodworking.
On Dec. 28, 1951 he married the former Harriett Hochstuhl (Miller) in Alton. She preceded him in death on January 26, 2012 at 5:15 p.m… Surviving is a son through marriage to Charmaine, Michael Barnal and his wife Pamela of Edwardsville, four grandchildren; Phillip Jonathon Barnal, Daisy Vogt and her husband Coby, Derek Bruce and his wife Mindy, Shawn Bruce, two great grandchildren; Carson and Ryan Hare and a sister, Imogene Walter (Hochstuhl) of Brighton. Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a daughter Charmaine Faye Barnal.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31. Pastor Brad Donoho will officiate. Memorials may be made to Upper Alton Baptist Church in Alton. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com.
