DONALD FREDRICK
ALTON — Donald J. Fredrick, of Alton, passed away Oct. 3, 2018 with his family by his side, under the care of BJC Hospice.
Don was born Jan. 8, 1935 in Mosinee, Wisconsin to Wayne and Sylvia Fredrick. He married the former Carole Howard, and they were married 55 years. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Donald (Susan) Fredrick of Brighton, Illinois, and Todd (Bobbie Jo) Fredrick of Godfrey, Illinois; one daughter, Dawn Denise (Joe Anders) Kibbons, of Alton, Illinois; 11 grandkids, Jason (Beth) Fredrick, Chad Fredrick, Jamie (Zach Mansfied) Fredrick, Haily Fredrick, Mackenzie (David) Hedrick, Clinton Hedrick, Erica Hedrick, Miranda (Brandon) Kibbons, Samantha (Brendon) Drake, Jeff Kibbons, Kassandra (Jeremy) Tittle; 10 great-grandchildren, Camberlee and Clayton Crane, Mitchell Parrish, Jayden Drake, Autumn Tittle, McKenna Granger, Somer West, Drew Fredrick, Skylar Fredrick, Trinity Hedrick; and two great-great-grandchildren, Karmen Mathews and Richard West.
Also surviving are two brothers, Walter "Wally" (Carol) Fredrick of Warsaw Wisconsin, and Charles Fredrick of Pamona, California.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, David of North Carolina, Ray of Marshfield, Wisconsin, and William "Billy" of Mosinee, Wisconsin; and one son, Kenneth Wayne Fredrick of Alton.
Don worked for Firestone for 20-plus years, then retired from Drake Tire in Alton after 25 years. He was an avid fisherman, loving to relax with a fishing pole. And he loved "hanging out" with his friends at Bluff City Bait and Tackle, formerly Rodney's.
A memorial service will be held at Heartland Baptist Church on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m.
Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
