Edward Bain Obituary

Edward Bain
Edward Bain, age 80 of Carrollton passed away Monday, September 30, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born January 25, 1944 in Granite City, the son of Harold and Leona Johnson Bain. He married Kathleen Kirbach January 26, 2002 at St. Mary's in Fieldon and she survives.
He is also survived by three sons, Sean (Vanessa) Bain of Edwardsville, Shea Bain of Paducah, KY, Ian Bain of Decatur, a daughter, Gay (Jeff) Will of Granite City, five grandchildren, Casey, Taylor, Madison, Mya, and Connor, two great grandchildren, Ada and Hendrix, a sister, Donna Fisher of Maryville, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Lois Wright.
Edward served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1966. He went to work for Terminal Railroad in Granite City for many years. He also was a car salesman at several different dealerships. He enjoyed golfing and coaching. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Carrollton.
A visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on October 19, 2024 at Irwin Chapel at 3960 Maryville Rd, Granite City with a service to follow at 6 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2024 at St. John's Catholic Church in Carrollton with burial to follow in St. John's Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at church. Memorials may be made to St. John's Catholic Church Capital Campaign or Carrollton Fire Protection District. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton is assisting the family. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com
