Elby Webb Obituary
Roxana - Elby Leon Webb 85 of Roxana, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on January 8, 1940, to Lacy and Velma Webb of Pleasant Hill, Illinois. On May 17, 1958, he married Mary Ann Guthrie.
He was a truck driver and shop manager for CBW transport and a member of the Teamsters Union Local 525 before his retirement. Elby was an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed mowing, working on tractors and spending time at his cabin/farm in Pleasant Hill, Illinois with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his daughters, Madge Strohmeier (Ron Dillow) of Alton, Phyllis Webb (Mark Gernigin) of East Alton, Illinois; and a son, B. Dean Webb (Susan) of East Alton, Illinois; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Drew Webb; his great grandchildren, Ayden and Wylie Hudock; his parents, six sisters, and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., Friday, February 28 at Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Illinois.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorial offerings are suggested to Alton Church of God, 65 E Elm St., Alton, IL 62002 where he had been a member for over 30 years.
