Elnora Summers Obituary
Wood River - Elnora "Tody" Summers, 97, went to be with her sweet Jesus Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville.
Born December 20, 1925 in Bernie, MO, she was the daughter of Sam and Grace (Becker) Hollis.
She had worked for Owens-Illinois Glass before retiring.
She was a very active member of East Alton Assembly of God Church, where she taught Sunday School, Bible School and an active member of the Woman's Ministry.
On February 20, 1943 in Charleston, MO, she married Therman L. Summers. He died February 22, 2011.
Surviving are two sons, Jim Summers of Cottage Hills, Larry (Sondra) Summers of Wood River; seven grandchildren, Kenny George, Tim (Corey) Summers, Kim (Mike) Outham, Mike Summers, Chris (Wendy) Summers, Bev (Bobby) Klein, Melody (Steve) Green; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Barb George; son-in-law, Mickey George; grandson, Billy George; and three sisters, Florine Riley, Christine Thompson and Mary Dean.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm, Monday, December 11 at East Alton Assembly of God Church where the funeral service will be conducted at 11 am, Tuesday. Pastor Timothy Keller will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to East Alton Assembly of God Church.

Tody was a fine Christian Woman with a heart of gold. Loved her like my own Mother. Never had anything bad to say about anyone. The Buford Family loved her very much. Rest in Heaven with Therman & Lester & Peggy!
