Freda Lawrence Obituary
Wood River - Freda E. Lawrence, 85, passed away at 10:02 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2024 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Feb. 10, 1938 in Kane, IL, she was a daughter of Paul A. and Martha M. (Wheeler) Sheaffer.
Freda married Robert D. Lawrence on June 14, 1958 in Hartford. He passed away Apr. 19, 2022.
She worked as a home health caretaker for many years. Freda loved to bake and go fishing with her husband.
Survivors include her sister, Betty Pounds of Houston, MO and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Laura Titsworth, Mable Pounds and Fannie Howland; a brother, Jacob Sheaffer; 3 half sisters, Frances Spencer, Dorothy Grubb, and Lorene Weaver; and two half brothers, Harold Ewing and Joseph Cozard, Jr.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 12 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 11 a.m. until services begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.

I went to church with Freda. Sweetest lady ever. So faithful to send cards for every occasion. Her and Bob were very special people.
