Dr. Glennis Gerald (Jerry) Wilhoit

Dr. Glennis Gerald (Jerry) Wilhoit, Retired Chiropractic Physician, age 88, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014, in Kirbyville, MO. Gerald was born December 27, 1925, in Dalton, MO to Rutherford & Bonnie (Petticord) Wilhoit. He was the 5th of 7 children born to them.

Gerald was married to Helen Wahlbrink and there were 3 sons born, Larry, James,and Donald. Later he married Alma Lou Osborne and with her came the addition of another son, David. Early in life Gerald chose to follow the words and life of Jesus as we read in the Bible. In his early years Gerald began as an appliance repairman. He later attended chiropractic school at Logan College of Chiropractics. He loved helping people and practiced up until his dying day.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Doris Ruth and Eula, his brothers, Kenneth, Delby, and Lowell. Gerald is survived by his wife, Alma Lou of the home, one sister, Alma (Wayne) Wahlbrink of Laclede, MO; 2 sisters-in-law, Dorothy Wilhoit of Centralia, MO and Betty Wilhoit of Dalton, MO; sons, Larry (Beverly) of Scottsbluff, NE, James (Linda) of Aurora, CO, Donald (Mary Lou) of Chillicothe, MO, David (Kathy) Osborne of Pine Bluff, AR; 7 grandchildren, & 13 great-grandchildren, extended family and a host of friends.

He will be missed so much by all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at A Gathering Place, 117 Highlandville Rd., Highlandville, MO. 65669. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. till service time.
