JAMES ZIPPRICH
JERSEYVILLE —James Joseph Zipprich, 69, born Dec. 25, 1948, in Greene County, died at 10:45 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018 at his home.
He was the son of the late Jerome and Marie (Goetten) Zipprich.
He married Nancy Jean Kirbach, Feb. 27, 1981, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville.
Zipprich retired from GTE as a telephone cable splicer. He was a U.S. Army veteran (1968-1970) of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Jerseyville American Legion Post 492, and Jerseyville Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife Nancy Jean Zipprich, sons: Joshua James (Jennifer) Zipprich of Glen Carbon; Chad David (Kimberly) Zipprich of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren: Kayla Rose Zipprich, Carter James Zipprich, Alexa Taylor Zipprich, Austin Joseph Zipprich; sister, Barbara Zipprich of Jerseyville, brother, Michael (Nancy Jo) Zipprich of Elsah.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, in Jerseyville, with Prayer Service at 3:45 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 14 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, in Jerseyville.Father Marty Smith and Deacon John Bretz will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Jerseyville, with full military rites by Jerseyville American Legion Post 492.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jerseyville American Legion Honor Guard, of which he was a member, or Holy Ghost/St. Francis Schools.
Alexander Gubser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
