JANET BILLUPS
CROSSVILLE, TENNESSEE — Ms. Janet Marie Stewart Billups, 65, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018.
Ms. Billups was born in Wood River, Illinois, on Oct. 9, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Louis Stewart and the late Edna Pauline Turnbull Stewart. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Joan L. Strickland of Georgia.
Ms. Billups graduated from East Alton-Wood River High School in 1971. She studied EMT/Advanced Patient Assessment at Central Florida Community College. She was previously employed as an EMS in Inglis, Florida. Ms. Billups retired from Duke Energy, Crystal River, Florida. Janet loved her bloodhounds, which she showed and Championed.
Ms. Billups married Jerry Martin of Crossville, Tennessee, on Sept. 1, 2017.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Martin of Crossville, Tennessee; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Barb and Rodger Aldrich of Godfrey, Illinois, Joyce and Ken Harris and Karen and Mark Ferguson, all of Wood River, Illinois; one brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Connie Stewart of Stafford, Virginia; and a number of other relatives.
Graveside services were conducted Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. from Melrose Hills Memorial Gardens in Villa Rica, with Rev. Homer Wysner officiating. Interment will follow in Melrose Hills Memorial Gardens with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Matt Holcombe, Tyler Hudgins, Dylan Pope, Jared Richardson, Robert Pate and Brian Wells.
