JASON LYERLA
BETHALTO — Jason S. Lyerla, 43, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017.
Born in Alton on July 11, 1974, he was the son of Clifford (Sher) Lyerla of Brighton and Donna [Payne] (James) Dempsey of Dorsey.
He was a farmer at Dempsey Farms for over 20 years.
He married Jaye Schollmeyer on Aug. 5, 2011, in Fosterburg. She survives.
Surviving also are sons, Anthony Lyerla, Christopher Tassinari, D.J. ( Lindsey) Schollmeyer, all of Bethalto, Dominique of Dorsey; daughter, Alexis Schollmeyer of Bethalto; grandson, Hunter Schollmeyer; step-brother, Paul Aholt of Alton; three step-sisters, Amy Maher of Alton, Jamie Goebel of Prairietown and Lindsey Miller of Jerseyville; several friends and family members, including lifelong friends, Benji Davis and John Bruhn.
Visitation will be from noon until time of service at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Pastor Dale Skeesick will officiate.
Cremation will follow the service.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of expenses.
