JAY PAYNE
SOUTH ROXANA — Jay E. Payne, 62, passed away 6:55 p.m., Friday, Sept. 14, 2018 at Integrity Healthcare of Alton.
Born in Wood River on Dec. 27, 1955, he was the son of John Payne and Roberta (Fentress) Fillingim.
He had worked as a roofer in the area.
Surviving are three daughters, Amy Yates of South Roxana, Jodi (Jason) Hennessy of Marble Hill, Missouri, Cory (Mark) Lungwitz of Oak Ridge, Missouri; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brother, Jamie Payne of Rosewood Heights; sister, Bonnie (L.D.) Carter in Arkansas.
His parents and a brother, John "Bo" Payne preceded in death.
Cremation rites were accorded.
Friends and family will gather for a Celebration of Life Memorial beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at the South Roxana American Legion Hall.
Marks Mortuary in Wood River was in charge of arrangements.
