JOHN FOWLER
GODFREY — John Fowler, 63, died at 3:16 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018.
He was born July 27, 1955 in Alton the son of Jim and Irene (Fritz) Fowler. He worked for many years in the maintenance department for Beverly Farm before finding his passion in marine mechanics and welding. He was a welder/mechanic for Piasa Harbor before moving to Freeport Texas and working at Freeport Launch.
Survived and celebrated by his daughter, Cassie (Chuck) Piel of Austin, Texas; siblings and their families, Jim (Laura) Fowler, their sons James (Jessica) Fowler, Jeremy (Kristi) Fowler, Linda (David) Chapman and their son Dave (Kellie) Chapman, Dotty (John) Parker and their sons, Justin (Jonna), Tyler (Andrea) and Will Brown; multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and special family, Clint, Sonya, Hailie, Emma and Laurali Alemond.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; nephews, Phillip Chapman and Jason Fowler; his best buddies Bob and Rich Christian and Oscar (Butch) Reed.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of Memorial service at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Reginald Burrell will officiate. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to OSF Home Healthcare and Hospice. Additional information and online guest book may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com.
