Joshua Gray Obituary
Alton - Joshua "Josh" Michael Gray, 43, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024 at his home.
Born May 28, 1980, he was the son of Dawn and the late Randy Gray of Alton.
Josh was born an athlete and was great at everything he did. Playing pool and poker were two of his biggest passions and hobbies. He was skilled in many trades and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a master electrician and a right hand-man at MIDCO painting with his brother-in-law, Travis.
Among being a hard worker and great friend, Josh loved being outdoors and adventurous and going on many different kinds of trips. He loved camping, fishing, kayaking, hiking, and golfing. If you know Josh, you know he'd always make you smile-either with an inappropriate joke or gesture or just with his presence.
But above all, Josh was loyal. He truly touched a lot of people and will be deeply missed.
Josh is survived by his mother, Dawn Gray; and his sisters, Amy, Jessecca, and Amber all of Alton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence "Randy" Gray; grandparents, Herman Gene Gray and Gerald Smith; uncles, Kenny, Mark,and Eric Gray; and aunt Gina. He will also be met by his best friend, Joel Bishop.
A Memorial Celebration will be held from 6-8 pm, Thursday, March 7 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
A private service will be held with his immediate family at a later date.

This is Shelly Crider, little sister of Jeff Crider. We lived down the street from The Grays, they were our extended family. Jeff was best friends with Mark, Kenny, Eric and Randy!!! I was besties with Gina and Kim. Mom loved Mrs Gray and dad was drinking buddies with Gene. We all grew up together and loved each other like family. Now we grieve for our family but still have hope for each other, not like the world but like those in Gods family. We hang on to our sweet memories and place our trust in Christ. Jeff and Shelly love y´all and Mom and Dad Crider are waiting with open arms in Heaven for your sweet boy.
