Larry Hattemar Obituary
Brussels - Larry W. Hattemar, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Calhoun Nursing and Rehab.
Larry was born on August 11, 1937, to the late Benjamin and Ione (Droege) Hattemar. He married Marcia Greathouse on September 14, 1957, in Hardin, IL.
Larry worked as a heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local 520 for 40 plus years. He took great pride in his garden, flowers, and landscaping.
In addition to his wife Marcia, he is survived by three children, Owen (Vicki) Hattemar of Perdido Beach, AL, Laurie (Edward) Lehr of Godfrey, IL, and Katherine (Alan) Friedel of Golden Eagle, IL; three grandchildren, Kyle and Caleb Hattemar and Tyler Friedel; and one great grandchild, Owen Hattemar II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Marvin, Calvin, and Dolly Jane; and two children, Heath Ward and Angela Marie.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Brussels, IL.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Brussels.
