Bethalto, IL - Linda R. Cheatham, 84, passed away at 4:40 pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Cedarhurst of Bethalto surrounded by her family.
She was born on September 7, 1938, in West Frankfort, IL. On June 3, 1956, in Shawnee Town, IL Linda married Donald L. Cheatham. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2017.
Linda worked at Walmart as a sales associate for over 30 years. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with her family and friends and was always on the lookout for a bargain. Linda loved listening to Elvis and old country music and taking pictures of all of her family.
She is survived by her children, Randy and Patty Cheatham of Brighton, IL, Rhonda Simmons of Mt. Vernon, IL, Kyle and Kelly Cheatham of Edwardsville, IL; grandchildren, Reggie Gillen, Angie and Mark Link, Ryan Simmons, Bethany Simmons, Zach, Ashley and Bailey Cheatham, Kylie and Jacob Wells, Kolby and Kale Cheatham and Katie and Taylor Young; great grandchildren, Hope, Keaton, Kamryn, Cora, Gavin, Ryker, Leona, Seann, Serinna, and Adaline; and two sisters, Shirley Zimmer of Johnston City, IL and Vicky Dasher of Marion, IL
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a son, Kevin Cheatham; a sister, Phyllis Walker; a nephew, Denny Simpson; and a son-in-law, Phillip Simmons.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 3:00 pm at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023, at 11:30 am at Denning Cemetery in West Frankfort, IL.
Memorials are suggested to Shriner's Childrens Hospital.
