Linda Crane Obituary

Linda (Sheary) Crane
Alton - Linda (Sheary) Crane, 78, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2023 at Alton Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness, with her family by her side. She was born on May 25, 1945 in Alton, IL, the daughter of Paul and Faith (Arnold) Sheary.
She was introduced to her husband, Don Crane by her brother on a blind date. They met and married in 6 weeks and would have celebrated 57 years of marriage on November 26, 2023.

After retiring from Laclede Steel, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, spent more time cooking and baking. Linda would never turn down a good card game or shy away from organizing a shopping trip for over 150 women, that went on for over 22 years.
Along with her husband, Don, they enjoyed spending time with their lifelong friends, Betty and Terry Burns, Ed and Rosalie Huebener and Bill and Nancy Tierney.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Michael Sheary and her dearest friend, Nancy Smith.

Don and family,
So very sorry to hear of Linda's passing, she was one of the sweetest person that you could ever know. My Husband and I would often talk about the great work Linda and the others on the Reunion committee did. She will be greatly missed by many friends.

Dear, dear Linda. We will miss you. But we will always remember the pinochle game nights and the great Gurney shopping trips. Linda, her daughters and the close friends put a lot of work and effort into those shopping trips and they will never be forgotten!

We were friends from childhood, as our parents were dear friends with each other. She always had a smile and a hug for me when we'd run into each other. I think our kids knew each other. Blessings and strength to her family.
