Marlene Sue Davis
Jerseyville - Marlene S. Davis, 86, passed away on March 18, 2026, at Jerseyville Manor, in Jerseyville, IL.
Marlene was born on November 29, 1939, to William C. Linebarger and Eileen (McNelly) Pace.
She married Wallace Davis on November 21, 1996, at First Baptist in Carrollton, IL.
She attended First Christian Church of Alton, IL. She helped with Oasis restaurant and Carriage House restaurant in Carrollton for many years; she retired from Carrollton Hospital cafeteria. She enjoyed hanging out with her six children, grandchildren, and friends. She also enjoyed cooking for others.
Marlene is survived by daughters, Annette (Gene) Scott-Leonard of Jamestown, TN, Denise (Bill) Loveland of Murrayville, IL, Christine Smith of Carrollton, IL, and Lisa (Kendall) Bridgewater of Jupiter, FL; sons, Jeff Merkle of Carrollton, IL, and Robert (Cindy) Merkle of Jerseyville, IL; 12 grandchildren, Heather Merkle, Ktrena Shinn, Michelle (Dennis) LaMarsh, Casey Nelson, Brittany Loveland, Taylor Loveland, Robert (Samantha) Merkle III, Tyler Merkle, Derek Smith, Shelby Bridgewater, and Paige Bridgewater; 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Terry Davis; sisters, Phyllis Cassidy and Jean Elledge; and grandsons, Joshua Merkle and Tim Nelson.
Visitation will be held on April 4, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
Burial will take place at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, IL.
Memorials can be made to Carrollton Food Bank.
