Michele "Shellie" S. Pickett
Edwardsville - Michele S. "Shellie" Pickett, 61 of Edwardsville, Illinois passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at her home.
Shellie was born on July 25, 1961 in Woodriver, Illinois the daughter of the late Bobbe and Julia (Weffenstette) Walker. Shellie was a 1979 graduate of Roxana Senior High School and was a huge Jimmy Buffett fan who considered herself a "Parrot Head". Shellie enjoyed her days of going to the beach and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Shellie is survived by and will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law; Genevieve and Ben Akers of Glen Carbon, Illinois; grandchildren, Juliet Akers of Glen Carbon, Illinois, Jude Akers of Glen Carbon, Illinois; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Susie Walker of Ft. Meyers, Florida, Rick and Tona Walker of Troy, Illinois; uncle Bruce and Alice Weffenstette and many other close family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Shellie was preceded in death by her grandparents; Walter and Kathryn Weffenstette.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to the Main Street Community Senior Center, 1003 North Main Street, Edwardsville, IL 62025.
